Scott was a jack of all trades. A man of many qualities: hardworking, strong-willed, funny, but above all, he was a decent and honorable man. A self proclaimed old soul with a sharp mind and steady hands, Scott lived life on his own terms. Raised in Moorestown, Scott was a graduate of Moorestown High School, Class of 1987, where he played football and began forging the grit that would define him for the rest of his life. He carried that same determination into everything he did, whether it was family, work, or the countless projects he tackled over the years. Scott could fix just about anything. If something broke, you brought it to Scott. Cars, appliances, trinkets, it didn’t matter. He had the patience, the skill, and the confidence to figure it out. He was a provider in every sense of the word, the steady presence his family relied on without hesitation. Scott loved animals and once turned his backyard into a small farm filled with goats, chickens, donkeys, and more. In his free time he enjoyed heading out to antique and thrift stores. He had an eye for a bargain and a talent for bringing things back to life, like old pieces of furniture and the various guitars that he would restore and proudly hang on his walls.
Music was woven into his soul. He wrote music, played keyboard, guitar, bass, and sang, and he was a part of several bands in his youth. His favorite artist was Chris Cornell and his favorite bands were Soundgarden, Audioslave, Van Halen, and Rush just to name a few, but his love of music extended to all different genres. The same could be said for his love of reading. Scott indulged in science fiction, philosophy, and poetry, always wanting to learn more, to understand more. He was extremely intelligent, endlessly curious, and never stopped seeking knowledge. He loved movies, especially Star Wars, and football, passionately following the Green Bay Packers and any team with Aaron Rodgers as Quarterback. His sense of humor was dry, witty, and perfectly timed, much like the comedians he enjoyed, including Eddie Izzard and Bill Burr.
Scott loved to travel, from New York and the Poconos to family trips to Disney, Las Vegas, Virginia, and Atlantic City (often for conventions, though he always made sure to enjoy himself). Road trips were serious business, especially after he bought a Chevy Express van big enough to carry the whole crew. The kids nicknamed it the “Magic School Bus,” and it became the vehicle for countless memories.
Twenty-three years ago, Scott met the love of his life, Alyssa “Aly,” in a Public Speaking class at Burlington County College. Alyssa was immediately impressed by how well he spoke, confident, articulate, thoughtful. The rest was history. They shared almost 21 years of marriage and began their life together with a honeymoon in Florida.
Scott is survived by his wife Alyssa, his children Collin, Caitlin, Stephen, Keigan, and Gannon, and his siblings Drew (Dana) Krisanda and Kara Tyler, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends,
