Norma “Pearl” Clark
Norma “Pearl” Clark
Norma had that way of making you feel great: her conversations were a mixture of intense listening and genuine honesty. She cooked with the best of them: baked lima beans and roast beef. As a mom she was all in: she sewed in her kid’s clothing (everything from halter tops to suits) and was a wiz with school projects. If she was out of the area, she was most likely heading down to the casinos battling the slots at Harrah’s and Show Boat or off for some fun in Lancaster. She spent more than 30 years out seeking adventure on her boat, My Pearl. Even this year she insisted that it be in the water. And she loved to do a little shopping, usually Boscov’s and always followed by lunch. She and her husband did quite a bit of travelling, seeing all fifty states and exploring Bermuda. She played some occasional golf and loved country music, especially Willie Nelson.
Norma and the late John shared a love story that spanned an incredible 75 years, having met in high school and stood by each other’s side through thick and thin. Their enduring love was a testament to the power of a lifelong partnership.
Norma is survived by her two daughters: Linda (Jack) Joo and Cindy (Michael) McCloskey; grandchildren: Melanie (Jack), Bobby, Julie, Caroline, Megan (Mark), Mikey, and Sarah (Vince); great-grandchildren: Jackie, Chevy, Georgie, and Pearl. She is predeceased by her husband John; and siblings: Edna, Grace, Henry, and Carolina.
