Freda Polito
Freda Polito
Freda, aka Fritz, lived to care for others. She may not have had much, but you were welcome to anything she owned. She wore many trade hats in her earlier years but finally found the perfect fit as a data entry clerk for 7-11. Her greatest joy was being a grandmother. She loved taking her grandkids to the shore, movies, fairs, dinner, or just hanging out at home. She rooted for the Phillies and the 49ers, even surviving an Eagles tailgate and game in the rain all while decked out in her team’s colors. Besides sports, she loved watching reality TV, game shows, and any version of CSI. She was Barry Manilow’s self-proclaimed number one fan. She cooked the best comfort food and insisted on always bringing the coleslaw. She was reunited with her high school sweetheart at a Burger King, the late Salvatore “Sam” in 1988 and spent the next 18 years of Sam’s life together as a blended family. Together they bowled in several leagues over the years and attended many firemen conventions in Wildwood. She spent years filling her home with every Garfield and Coca Cola collectibles as possible. She is now once again reunited with her high school sweetheart. She is survived by her children, Elizabeth (Charles) Aquino, Howard Knight, Russell (Jessica) Knight, Jamie Polito and Joseph Polito; grandchildren, Juliette, Tyler, and Summer; and siblings, Shirley (William) Polito and Edward Mourey.
Come celebrate 71 great years noon to 1 p.m., Sunday Oct. 12, at Sweeney Funeral Home, Beverly where there a 1 p.m. storytime service.
