Manuel Vazquez

Manuel Vazquez

Manny was a one of a kind, hilarious, legend that gave people the best nicknames. He lived life with a smile, a sharp wit, and just the right amount of sarcasm to keep everyone laughing. In his younger years he was known as a baseball star, collecting trophies that still decorate his mothers home. Manny spent 20 years working at Lockheed Martin, where he was respected for his dedication and work ethic. He loved to saltwater fish, play card games, especially caribbean stud at the Borgata, and enjoy a good drink with friends. On any vacation with his wife Pat, the first thing on his mind was finding the nearest fishing spot. Together they explored Jamaica, the Dominican Republic, and Mexico, a place that became a second home to them. The love story of Manny and Pat began at a fish fry, where he spent nearly a year winning her over before she finally agreed to date him. That persistence turned into 21 years of a loving marriage. Known best as “Poppop,” he found his greatest joy in being with his grandchildren, coaching them in sports and cheering them on every step of the way. He and Pat made their home a place of welcome, where anyone could feel like family. One of a kind hilarious legend that gave people the best nicknames to anyone he met.

Manny is predeceased by his father Manolo. He is survived by his mother Veda, his wife Patricia, his children Jason “Junior” (Lavena), and Monique, his grandchildren Jason “Rudy”, Jada (James), John “Quan”, Jaiden, and Jeremiah “Buzzy”, his great-grandchildren Anna “Mamalou” and Kairo, his siblings Veda, Ignacio, and Jose, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
