Louis John Queen, 76, of New Jersey, passed away on January 25th 2026.
Louis, known as Lou, is survived by his wife Barbara Queen, loving life partner Judy Kelly his daughter Melissa (Jeff) O’Connor, his cherished grandchildren Nolan & Ellie, his siblings John (Laura) Queen, Deborah (Bill) Williams, and Maria (David) Inch, and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents John and Marion Queen.
Lou graduated from Peekskill High School in 1967 and attended WestChester Community College. He spent time in Corpus Christi continuing his education before returning to New York and owning Gail’s Wine and Liquors. He then transitioned to a career at Goodyear where he rose to manage several east coast district offices. When his career came to an end, Lou purchased a deli and ice cream store “Yummy’s” in Lebanon, New Jersey. He retired to South Jersey in 2005 and lived there until his passing.
Lou was deeply passionate about New York sports and could often be found following his favorite teams (Mets, Giants, Knicks & Rangers), sharing commentary, memories, and excitement with friends and family. His daughter remembers staying up to watch the Stanley Cup finals in 1994 and Lou’s elation when the Rangers won. A favorite pastime of Lou’s was golf and he also enjoyed watching the sport.
Above all else, Lou valued time with the people he loved. Whether offering advice, talking about politics, watching a game, or simply being together, he leaves behind countless memories that will be held close by those who survive him. He was extremely proud to see his grandson start t-ball and bought him his first bat.
Lou will be remembered for his loyalty, his sharp mind, his love of sports, and the deep love he had for his family.
Lou has requested no service after his passing. The family appreciates your thoughts and prayers and support during this difficult time.
