Anthony Dydek

Anthony Dydek

You always knew Tony was around by the sound of his laugh, or others after a great joke. His happy place was always by the pool at his tiki bar, an old Milwaukee light in hand, spending precious time with his wife. He fell in love with Susie, on a camping trip with friends. After a long night of drinking, she offered him a simple cup of coffee, and the rest was history. Together they shared 45 beautiful years of marriage before her passing. Whether it was fixing broken glasses, redoing kitchens, or repairing something small, Tony had a gift for making things work. His talent became his life’s work when he bought a van and started his own business, Man of the House Repairs, which he proudly ran for 30 years. Tony was a strict dad but always kept his shop open for Jackie. He proudly taught her the ways of his work, probably telling her she held the flashlight too low or too high from time to time, but Jackie was his shadow and built in best friend. Tony’s real calling in life came a little later and earned him the title of “Poppop”. He granted his granddaughter every wish: from buying her dresses to gifting her a full size soft-serve ice cream machine. Some of their happiest moments were spent together by the pool, cones in hand. When he wasn’t working or with family, Tony enjoyed watching Ancient Aliens, learning new things, trains, and finding fascinating videos on YouTube.

Tony is predeceased by his wife Susie, he is survived by his daughter, Jackie (Elijah) and his granddaughter, Rose, along with many siblings, in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Come celebrate 69 great years on Wednesday September 24th from 10am-12pm at Sweeney Funeral Home, 337 Bridgeboro Street, Riverside, where there will be a 12pm service.
