Eileen (Mimi )Helen McDermott of Little Egg Harbor passed peacefully surrounded by her family, friends and beloved cats Izzy & Lacey on February 12,2026 . She was 79 years old.

Eileen was born in Burlington NJ to William and Margaret McDermott where she resided and met the love of her life John (Jack) F. McDermott Jr. They were married for 49 years until his passing in 2016.

Eileen was predeceased by her Brother William (Wink ) McDermott, Nephew Daniel Ryan Meador , and Sister in law Colleen Pierce McDermott.

Eileen is survived by her daughter Karen Lowther (Steve), son Jason McDermott (Michele) granddaughter Kasey Stelzer (Hans) and Great Grandson Nolan John Stelzer. Her sister Linda Vailati , brothers Ronald McDermott (Julia) , George McDermott (Mary) and Daniel McDermott, Sister in Law Eileen Lubosco (Ralph) , Sister in Law Patricia Purdum (Smith)-(predeceased), Brother in Law Thomas McDermott (Sue), along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Eileen lived her life sharing love , laughter and most of all her beautiful heart. She lit up every room with her wonderful spirit, beautiful eyes, sharp wit ,and wicked humor and we were all better for it.
She was a devoted Wife, Mother, Daughter,Sister , Grandmother , Great Grandmother and friend.

Her legacy will live on in all the lives she touched and will be missed dearly by those who had the immense blessing of knowing her beautiful Soul.

In lieu of a service, her wishes were to be joined with her husband and Soul mate and released together to “ continue their adventures “ at a time and place to be determined by her family at a later date when the weather is warmer and more accommodating .
