Joseph Astraski

Joseph Astraski

Joe was a man of strong character, quick wit, and an unmistakable charm that could fill any room, or dock, with laughter. Joe was a proud Marine Corps Veteran, instilling his values in everything he did. For over 20 years he worked as a correctional officer, but his real passion was being a Captain of the sea. Joe spent countless hours on the water fishing for weakfish, seabass, drum fish, and more, usually ending the day with a fish dinner. Joe could really cook up some fish, but his favorite was heading out for some crab legs and lobster tails. Joe had a special way with people, especially the ladies, always making sure his shining teeth were intact before he would flash a smile. When Joe wasn’t out on the sea, you could find him catching up on the Flyers, Phillies, and Eagles, or, his favorite, Fox news.

Joe is predeceased by his parents Joseph and Anna Astraski.

He is survived by his siblings Thomas (Suzanne) Astraski, Barbara (Harold) Broker, and Patricia Havens, his niece Cherie Astraski and his nephew Thomas (Lynn) Astraski, and his very close friend Donna Karwacki, along with many extended family and friends.

Services for Joe will be held privately by the family. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project to help veterans https://support.woundedwarriorproject.org.
