Anthony E. Diehl
October 21, 1947 to October 7, 2025
Tony was a wonderful man whose presence filled every room with warmth, pride and a touch of stoic charm. Born and raised in Philadelphia, Tony was a true gentleman always known for dressing to the nines – sharp, composed and dignified in every sense of the word. A proud US Veteran, Tony was drafted and served his country honorably from 1967 to 1969 in Vietnam and was awarded a Bronze Star and many other medals for his service. He loved traveling the world – from Aruba and the Caribbean to across Italy and all of Europe – and was always ready for an adventure, especially if there were slot machines nearby. Tony’s playlist was as eclectic as it was joyful and included his favorites Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Black Eyed Peas and Pitbull. Down time was spent enjoying the simple pleasure of either dining out with his wife Karen and friends to savor good food and great company or entertaining in their home. The holidays held a special place in Tony’s heart… Christmas was cherished with family, and New Year’s Eve celebrated with Karen and their friends to welcome a new year with joy and gratitude.
Tony was a devoted husband, son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend and neighbor. To his grandchildren who cherished and adored him, “Pop Pop” was a legend who splashed in the pool, vacationed in Disney, cheered from the sidelines of little league fields, taekwondo competitions and dance recitals and even taught them how to play poker. He never missed an event, function or a moment to show his love and support.
