Janice Clauss

Janice Clauss

Janice had a heart that made people feel seen, loved, and special. She was deeply social, endlessly caring, and filled every room with life. She was the type of person who left a little glitter, figuratively and sometimes literally, wherever she went. Born and raised in Delran and a graduate of Riverside High School, she carried her hometown pride wherever life took her. For a decade, she and her husband Harry lived in Pittsburgh, but in true Janice fashion, she was ready to come back east the moment she could; home was where her heart was, and her heart always belonged in Jersey.

Janice was a lover of antiques and her frequent deliveries from OVC and Amazon. She had a knack for turning old furniture into something beautiful, and she never needed a real excuse to go shopping. Music was a constant in her life. Whether singing “You Are My Sunshine” to her loved ones, dancing in the kitchen to Elvis or Johnny Cash, or belting out her favorite oldies, Janice found joy in every melody. Her home was her pride. Known as “Mrs. Clean,” Janice kept an immaculate house, decked out for every holiday, and filled with warmth. As a mother, Janice was endlessly devoted. She brought her kids everywhere, never wanting them to miss out on a single thing. But as a grandmother, she took love to another level. Her home was covered in signs expressing just how much her grandchildren meant to her. She spoiled them with food, gifts, phone calls, and shopping trips, and dancing in the kitchen.

Janice met Harry through his sister, and their connection grew into a beautiful partnership that lasted 58 years. They shared a full life together, filled with travel, laughter, and music. From sunny days in Florida and California to roadtrips up and down the east coast and cherished trips to Hawaii, Janice was always up for an adventure.

Janice is predeceased by her parents Alexander and Stella Hatala. She is survived by her husband Harry, her children Stephanie Gally (Ross Zimmer), Patty (Jeff) Conard, and Harry (Colleen) Clauss, her grandchildren Sarah Gally, Sarah Zimmer, Ryan Zimmer, Jeffery Conard, Madelynn Conard, Chase Conard, Carter Conard, Andrew Clauss, and Kaitlynn Clauss, her sister Marianne (Jeff) Ford, and her niece and nephews Jeffery (Danielle), Marykate, and John, along with many other close friends and family.
