Ronald Venton Paice
Ronald Venton Paice (86) of Beverly N.J., passed away July 18, 2025. Ron, born April 17, 1939, was one of 5 sons born to Harold and Catherine Paice in Oswego N.Y.
A charismatic and outgoing person, Ron lived a long full life with a dedication to learning and personal growth.
Ron attended SUNY Oswego, receiving his Bachelors and later attending the College of NJ receiving his MEd. Ron went on to establish a well respected career in inmate education and dramatic arts at New Jersey State Prison for 36 years as Principal of Education.
A path to improving his life led Ron to AA in 1978, where he became a pillar of his local meetings, helping many others reach their sobriety goals.
St Stephens Episcopal Church and the wonderful congregation became a beloved community for him. Ron served as a choir member, assisted with fundraisers and events, and enthusiastically welcomed a more diverse population by using his Spanish skills to deliver weekly readings. Ron was a faithful member of St Stephens for over 40 years.
Ron was known around his community as a volunteer at the local library, attending city council meetings regularly, working as a poll worker many election days, and as an umpire for softball, baseball and football. He was a familiar face to many and was happy to strike up a conversation with anyone.
But his most favorite role and the one he was most proud of was that of father to his three daughters, Jennifer, Meaghan and Katherine. Whether it was coaching their cheerleading team (yup!), attending concerts at the War Memorial, various camping trips,or just visits to a diner with a crossword puzzle, Ron was happy to spend time with his daughters. He was always ready to share with anyone their latest achievements or adventures. His newest title of Grandpa to Birdie and Benjamin brought him so much joy and delight.
Ron will be missed by so many friends and family.
A service will be held Saturday July 26th at 12 with a viewing at 11 at St Stephens Episcopal Church of Beverly.
In lieu of flowers please donate to St Stephens Episcopal Church of Beverly or the Beverly Free Library.
